Air Motion Systems Opens Eco-Facility
RIVER FALLS, WI—Air Motion Systems (AMS) recently held an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new manufacturing facility for community members, local officials and regional economic developers. The new facility was designed from the ground up for “green” certification based on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria, which serves as a voluntary scoring system for sustainable, energy-efficient building design.
Barry Shapiro is the new senior account manager at SMART Papers, responsible for the metro New York region. In other news, SMART Papers is in the process of building a new energy facility that will make all of the company’s products fully carbon neutral and fossil fuel-free by late 2009.
In response to the increase in Prism’s market share in North America and its continued planned expansion, Michelle Mikka-Van Der Stuyf has been appointed as the new operations manager of Prism North America.
In January 2009, xpedx will open a new xpedx Technology Center at its Cincinnati headquarters. The new center, replacing its Cleveland and Kansas City, KS, tech centers, will reportedly be the only center in the United States to allow printers the ability to evaluate products from multiple OEMs across all prepress, press and postpress functions in a live print production environment. Separately, the parts department for xpedx’s Ryobi offset press business will be moved from Kansas City to a distribution hub in Memphis, TN, in early 2009.

Superior Printing Ink has expanded sales of ISO 2846-1 compliant process inks in its sheetfed, UV and heatset web product lines.
At Andover, MA-based Standard Finishing Systems, Bill Gunther III has been added as the company’s new mailing systems business manager. He helped launch Gunther International in 1981, and is now responsible for establishing Standard’s KAS inserting systems product line with Standard’s graphic arts and mailing equipment dealer channels.
Muller Martini announced that sales and marketing functions for Muller Martini Mailroom Systems, previously handled in Allentown, PA, are now being handled at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. As part of this shift, the company has tapped Gary Owen as its new vice president of sales serving the newspaper industry.
At Air Motion Systems, Willie Fuchs has been named as the new East Coast/Canada regional sales manager.
Three new appointments have been announced at Finch Paper. Kyle Prince has been appointed digital sales manager and Central region market manager. Paul Lukaszewski has joined as digital market manager, Eastern region, also managing a sales territory extending from Maine through Florida. J.P. Thomas has also been named digital market manager, West Coast region, with a territory that includes Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona.
Bow Smith is the new national service manager at Buhrs Americas. Prior to joining Buhrs, Smith served at inTelmail USA as the head of its U.S. operations.
At Wolf Envelope, Mark Novelli has been hired as the company’s new distributor account manager, covering the entire U.S. market, serving out of the company’s corporate office in Troy, MI, as well as its two plants in Angola, IN, and Hattiesburg, MS.
The new senior vice president of product management at Quark Inc. is P.G. Bartlett, who is responsible for product management and marketing across the company’s desktop and enterprise business units.
Government Print Management has been formed as a business offering of e-LYNXX Corp. to work with print suppliers to gain U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) and other government work. In additional company news, Michael Jackson has been named as e-LYNXX Corp.’s new senior vice president and COO.
At DocuLynx Inc., Bob Gullikson is the new vice president of sales, responsible for all North American sales and managing a direct sales team, as well as overseeing authorized Mercury software value-added resellers (VARs) in other vertical markets.
Sakurai USA announced that two of its authorized dealers—Montgomery, AL-based Independent Graphic Services and J.E. Halliday Sales of Huntington Beach, CA—have won sales awards for Outstanding Sales Achievement during 2007. The awards were presented at a Sakurai dinner event during Drupa for Sakurai’s top dealers and agents around the world.
