Printing Industries Alliance Announces New Special Industry Group for Mailers
NEW YORK - July 17, 2018 - Printing Industries Alliance (PIA) is pleased to announce a new initiative to serve the needs of the Direct Mail business, the PIA Mailers Council. The Board of Directors for the former NY Metro Idealliance Chapter recently voted to join with Printing Industries Alliance to form the PIA Mailers Council. The new PIA Mailers Council will be open to all mailing companies as well as mailers/printers, initially within the Printing Industries Alliance footprint. Plans are being discussed to expand this initiative geographically should there be sufficient interest. Members of the PIA Mailers Council will become members of the Printing Industries Alliance with full access to the consultative, informational, educational and group purchasing services enjoyed by current members. In addition, to ensure a voice in organizational direction, a representative of the PIA Mailers Council will have a permanent seat on the Printing Industries Alliance Board of Directors.
As an added benefit, PIA Mailers Council will be able have access to the services of the Mailers Hub. Mailers Hub is a mailing industry recognized organization established to answer the needs of today’s commercial mailers, to provide fast access to answers and resources to help them understand and comply with USPS regulations, to improve their operations so they may better serve their customers and improve profitability, and to facilitate collaboration with industry peers and partners. For additional information on Mailers Hub, visit www.mailershub.com.
The former NY Metro Idealliance Chapter and its predecessor associations have a rich history in service to the direct mail industry. Through the years and operating under a variety of names, including MASA, MFSA, AMSP, NAPL, Epicomm, and Idealliance, the organization has provided a solid network of the leading mail and direct mail companies in the metro New York area.
The PIA Mailers Council will have Marty Maloney as its Executive Director. Maloney is also the Executive Vice President of the Printing Industries Alliance and Executive Director of Printing Industry Alliance’s “Print Drives America” Foundation. (http://printdrivesamerica.org)
Tim Freeman, President of the Printing Industries Alliance, stated, “We are very pleased to welcome our new members and plans are now under way to grow this new PIA Mailers Council over the next year. We are developing an outreach effort to metro New York companies engaged in mailing and will be holding several introductory breakfasts in the fall in both New York and New Jersey. Potential participants should watch their mail for our informational mailings over the next few weeks and we are looking for companies with creative ideas who want to make a difference in our industry to spearhead the leadership of this new initiative. Since over 50% of all printing is delivered through the mail, printing and mailing are natural partners and we believe the PIA Mailers Council will achieve great synergy, and find a permanent home, with our organization.”
