Printing Industries of America Announces New Name and Logo
PITTSBURGH—December 3, 2008—Printing Industries of America, formerly PIA/GATF (Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation) and the world's largest graphic communications association, is proud to announce a new name, logo, and tagline.
The new name and logo reflect over a year's worth of work resulting in a strategic communications plan that will serve the industry today and into the future. The plan's goal is to strengthen and streamline messaging to the graphic communications industry - including suppliers, partners, customers, and lawmakers - to better reflect the activities within the organization as well as to reinforce the value that the national organization and its local affiliates bring to their members.
"The new logo depicts the technology, artistry, and dynamic growth of the industry, while the new tagline, 'Advancing Graphic Communications,' captures the organization's innovative, forward-thinking approach," notes Michael Makin, President and CEO of Printing Industries of America.
On November 16, 2008, the Boards of Printing Industries of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation approved the renaming of the organization. The re-branding will result in a number of beneficial changes for the organization's members as well as the entire marketplace. The first is the renaming of the organization's website from www.GAIN.net to www.printing.org. In 2009, the website will be completely revitalized and re-launched with a more user-friendly format.
Additionally, Printing Industries of America publishes two magazines, each distributed bi-monthly - GATFWorld and Management Portfolio. In the spring of 2009, the organization will introduce a new, combined publication - Printing Industries of America: The Magazine. The content will be based on the results of a comprehensive reader survey to ensure the organization's members are receiving the most pertinent information.
The industry will be kept informed of additional changes that are on the horizon through a series of press releases. Watch for these exciting developments and the organization's efforts to better serve its membership, as well as the graphic communications industry as a whole.
"We are very excited about the re-branding of this organization. It symbolizes the forward movement of the graphic communications industry and our efforts to meet the ever-changing needs of our members," said Lisa Rawa, vice president of marketing and the re-branding effort's project manager.
