Fujifilm North America, Graphic Systems Div., has installed solar panels on its North Kansas City, MO, manufacturing facility rooftop. With 216 modules, it produces about 60,000 kWh annually. In other company news, Fujifilm has opened its Technical Center for Inkjet Printing in Hanover Park, IL, to provide customers with live equipment demonstrations, including the J Press 720.
Agfa Graphics has expanded its GreenWorks Environmental Recognition Awards program to include users of its newest eco-friendly printing plates, :Azura Vi and :N94-VCF.
Resolute Forest Products and National Envelope have formed a partnership to provide customers with an expanded portfolio, including folio-size sheets of Resolute’s recently launched Align family of high-opacity, high-bulk, environmentally-responsible papers that can be used as alternatives to chemical pulp coated and uncoatd freesheet in most commercial printing applications.
manroland sheetfed has named Michael Mugavero managing director and CEO for the United States and Canada, as well as a member of the manroland board of directors. Since joining manroland sheetfed in 1992, he has served as a regional sales manager, general manager and vice president of sales.

xpedx’s new 200,000-square-foot distribution center in Lakeland, FL, now servicing Tampa, Orlando and all of northern, central and western Florida territories, is expected to increase xpedx’s employment in the area by about 10 percent. Sales and customer service offices will remain in Tampa and Orlando.
Joe Bendowski, CEO of Van Son Holland Ink, recently celebrated his 50-year anniversary with the company. Throughout his career with Van Son, Bendowski served as a stock boy, a sales rep, a national dealer sales manager, vice president of dealer sales for the United States, and president of the company to his current position.
