KBA North America has introduced its KBA Service Select program, a complete line of customized service products designed to maximize the productivity and profitability of a customer's KBA press. An array of programs are available. The company is also offering Service Select press upgrades.
A new cylinder replacement program for M-600 web presses has been established by Goss International. Designed to help printers maintain the print quality and extend the competitive lifespan of their systems, the program includes pricing incentives and the opportunity to update the plate lock-up system on older presses.
Several announcements have been made at xpedx. Steve Bowden has been named executive vice president of marketing and sales. He succeeds Tom Weisenbach, who retired last month after 35 years of service. In addition, a multi-year agreement has been made between UPM-Kymmene and xpedx. The agreement makes xpedx the exclusive merchant supplier of UPM coated freesheet sheetfed, coated freesheet web and other UPM coated papers to commercial printers in the United States and Canada. In other company news, an agreement has been made between EFI and xpedx, wherein xpedx is now a national reseller of EFI's PrintSmith MIS system, Digital Storefront Web-to-print platform, and other workflow and proofing technologies, to small- and mid-size printers across the United States.
FASTechnology Group is now an authorized distributor of Kodak Versamark D-Series printing systems in the United States and Canada. Through the agreement, FASTechnology is now a distribution channel for the Versamark DS5120, DS5122, DS5222, DS5240, DS5340, DS5640 and DS5650.
Two appointments have been made at Pitney Bowes. Patrick Brand has been named president of the company's U.S. Mailing business. Ramesh Lakshmi-Ratan is succeeding him as president of the Document Messaging Technologies (DMT) unit. Brand and Lakshmi-Ratan now report to Leslie Abi-Karam, executive vice president and president of mailstream solutions management.
John Sweeney has joined Chromaticity as vice president of business development. Sweeney most recently served as vice president of business development at IQ Colour.
Printable Technologies announced a new integration with EFI Monarch, the print management solution previously known as EFI Hagen. Printable's Web-to-print solution, MarcomCentral, now integrates with EFI's Monarch Executive. The integration of the two solutions allows print service providers to implement a single workflow solution that can streamline operations, reduce costs, ensure on-time job delivery, optimize technology and capture business.
JUST Normlicht has named The Board Room's colorHQ division as the Midwest demonstration center for JUST Normlicht's LED products. colorHQ will showcase the JUST LED color viewing light in its demonstration center in Romeoville, IL.
The National Association for Printing Leadership named Gerald Nathe, chairman of Baldwin Technology, as its 49th Walter E. Soderstrom Award recipient. It was presented to him at the annual NAPL Soderstrom Society dinner held during PRINT 09.
At DiMS! organizing print, Steven Antoni has been named sales manager for the North American market. He has held sales and sales management positions with Technique Group, Press-sense, ASI and Programmed Solutions.
Printers' Service (Prisco) and TRESU Royse have entered into a strategic alliance to sell coating systems for printing presses throughout the United States. Prisco will focus on the offset retrofit (end user) market for chamber technology and TRESU Royse will promote its products to OEMs.
PressAccess and The Access Group have formed a new partnership with Independent Printers Worldwide (IPW), which enables IPW members to choose among a range of options to help them move their underutilized equipment or to identify, locate and install pre-owned prepress, press or postpress equipment. IPW members can also take part in a variety of incentive programs offered by The Access Group.

According to a joint marketing agreement between Screen (USA) and Xeikon, Screen (USA) has begun offering Xeikon's digital color solutions to its U.S.-based clients for book publishing and transactional/transpromo applications; and Xeikon now sells Screen's Truepress jet 520. PI
