Two new appointments have been made at Komori America. Patrick Callahan is the new director of service operations, responsible for the entire parts and service operation for North America. Callahan comes to Komori from xpedx Ryobi where he served as director of service. Hal Stratton has been hired as market development manager. His focus includes providing leadership for Komori's Customer Advisory Council, collaborating with internal and external marketing partners, developing market segments, and liaising with vendor groups and industry associations. Stratton most recently served at manroland as director of applied technologies and strategic relations.
At Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Takefumi Suzuki has been named president and CEO. Suzuki most recently served as director and managing executive officer at Mitsubishi Paper Mills, and as a board member of Mitsubishi Imaging.
Heidelberg has acquired CSAT GmbH, a manufacturer of digital printing systems for the packaging industry based in Eggenstein, Germany. The move expands Heidelberg's existing digital printing portfolio for the packaging sector, as well as widens its customer base in this market segment. Heidelberg also gains access to technology and expertise in the areas of drop-on-demand inkjet and electrophotography.
Mabeg has named Matik Inc. an exclusive sales agent for its off-line print inspection and individualization systems. The agreement covers the Mabeg MSP 104 sheet inspection systems and Mabeg MBP blank inspection systems in both the United States and Canada.
James Thoele has been named managing director, technical services, at Van Son Holland Ink.
MLP U.S.A. will relocate its corporate headquarters from Lincolnshire, IL, to Hunt Valley, MD, beginning this fall. The new headquarters will be located in a facility that also houses the Corrugated Machinery Div. of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
xpedx has announced several new appointments. James Connelly, a vice president and company officer of International Paper, has been tapped as xpedx's new COO. Dan Watkoske has been named executive vice president of sales. John Biscanti is the new executive vice president of operations. Thomas Lazzaro has joined as chief procurement officer. In other company news, xpedx held a national competition among student members of the international nonprofit organization Net Impact to develop a sustainability survey and scorecard for xpedx's supply chain. The winning team was MBA students at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
Nipson SAS has appointed Bryan Palphreyman, the former managing director of Nipson UK, to CEO of its Nipson America Inc. and UK Ltd. subsidiaries.
EFI has acquired print MIS/ERP provider Prism Group Holdings. It will continue to support and develop Prism WIN MIS and QTMS automated shop floor management solutions for existing Prism customers. PI
