(Editor's note: This review of the Capstone AutoViri Trayer Robot, which will debut at the upcoming PRINTING United Expo, is part of an ongoing series featuring longtime industry consultant David Zwang's rundown of his "Must See" products that will be on the show floor.)
Capstone will be showing its very unique AutoViri robotic and software solutions designed for print-to-mail businesses for the first time at PRINTING United 2023.
As print and mail companies continue to struggle with labor issues, compounded by new postal regulations and higher costs, building a more automated process is front of mind. Capstone has designed a modular suite of software and robotic solutions to streamline and automate print to mail processes. These individually configurable solutions are designed to solve the specific requirements of each production facility.
AutoViri is the name of Capstone’s software, and it connects all of the print to mail processes and manages all the different process communications. It is designed to manage sleeving, palletizing, tagging and traying for all of the processes that are needed for a digital eDoc workflow. Its solutions are used throughout the industry right now, in companies including Valpak, Pitney Bowes, Pfizer, etc.
However, the solutions are not just designed for the large mailing houses. Capstone can work with companies that have just one inserter and one sorter. Or it can go into a company that has just one printer, and is trying to grow a mailing business. Capstone can help them plan how to get there, since it also has those solutions. Ultimately, it acts as a consultant and integrator to help businesses get to the next level, and plan for it with its solutions as well as 3rd party partner solutions as needed.
At the expo booth, Capstone will have a small robotic cell that showcases the movements of the robot moving single items and bulk items back and forth. It will also be showing a tagger cabinet process where it scans a piece of mail, creates a tray tag, puts it on the tray. This goes in correlation with the conveyor that will also be in the booth.
Capstone has other internally developed software solutions including AutoViri IIoT Analytics, AutoViri Sleever 6.0, AutoViri OptiSort Shelving, AutoViri Tray Management, and AutoViri Palletizer, although they won’t be displayed live in the booth due to sheer size requirements. To help you understand their scope and process, Capstone will have lots of monitors showing videos of them and representative robotic automation solutions, so you can see what they do and have a discussion with them about your needs.
The most compelling reason to visit the booth is that their solutions have an average ROI of 12 to 24 months!
