Komori announced that Prisma, a full-service marketing logistics company with plants in Nashville, Tennessee, and Phoenix, Arizona, has purchased an eight-color Komori Lithrone G40 advance perfector (GL840P advance) with LED-UV for its new facility in Nashville. This is Prisma’s third Komori Lithrone G40 perfector.
Prisma recently acquired two well-established print companies in Nashville to broaden the national footprint of its 42-year-old Phoenix-based brand and provide additional operational efficiencies for the company’s Midwest and East Coast clients. Prisma is in the process of expanding its Nashville facility by more than 100,000 square feet to accommodate the company’s exploding growth. Komori’s GL840P advance was chosen to support the Nashville plant in delivering the high-speed production necessary to meet aggressive time-to-market demands for its clients from coast to coast.
“We have aggressive growth goals at Prisma and, to achieve them, we look to the support of our partners,” said Robert Anderson, CEO, Prisma. “Our partnership with Komori has helped us grow our business. Komori understands the marketing supply chain elements of our business and they keep pace with what's going on in the industry and meet today’s needs of our end clients. Komori’s technology, in so many ways, has been integral to our continued success.
“We’ve had such a great experience with our other two Komori presses, it made staying with Komori an easy decision. Prisma’s goal is to run the same kind of equipment among all locations,” continued Anderson. “We love the warranty aspect of the GL840P advance press, the training that goes along with it, the high reliability, that the maintenance is so easy and, most of all, its speed. This press allows us to significantly increase speed to market for our clients.”
The advanced automation and fast job cycle time of the GL840P advance streamlines the production process, reducing makeready time and significantly shortening the time from receipt of materials to delivery. It is also an environmentally responsible press. Prisma is a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified printer with a commitment to offering green-alternative products and services and implementing sustainable business practices that make print processes more efficient. The addition of LED-UV to the press not only makes it possible to turn jobs quickly with applications that come off the press completely cured, but the company also likes that the press is designed to save energy and resources and reduce harmful chemical substances, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released in the process, supporting Prisma’s sustainable business practices.
“Prisma is a forward-thinking company and being able to provide solutions that significantly enhance their business is very rewarding,” said Mark Milbourn, executive vice president at Komori America. “We know the GL840P advance will deliver on what their customers need today – and in the future.”
