Victor Graphics Seeking Partner, Investor or Buyer
BALTIMORE—Equity Partners CRB has been retained by Victor Graphics to find a partner, investor or buyer for the family-owned, full-service book manufacturer and printing company.
Widely-known throughout the printing industry as "The Pineapple People," Victor Graphics was founded in 1983 and is reportedly the largest privately-owned book printer in Baltimore. Motorists passing through Baltimore on I-95 can easily view the 20-foot-tall pineapple on the roof of Victor Graphics’ 116,500-square-foot-facility, but few probably knew the significance.
The company’s founders, Judy and Tom Hicks, wanted a logo that was both unique and expressive so they settled on the pineapple, a universal symbol of hospitality. Since then, many pineapple related items have been sent to the company from customers, employees, vendors and friends.
When the company started, with only 11 employees and an SBA loan, the founders had one vision in mind. Tom Hicks, explained, “We started Victor Graphics to employ people and 30 years later, we still adhere to that principle. Some of our employees have been with us the full 30 years and they continue to go above and beyond for our customers. Our focus during this process remains the same; provide employment for the benefit of our people, vendors and customers.”
Victor Graphics specializes in one- and two-color text, workbooks, catalogs, paperback and case-bound books, in addition to digital printing and e-book conversions. The firm serves more than 400 customers across the United States.
Based in Easton, MD, Equity Partners provides banking services and is reported to have completed 400-plus engagements.
