SUSSEX, Wis.—September 15, 2015—Quad/Graphics is pleased to announce that in an effort to strengthen its commitment to its home state of Wisconsin, the company has plans to add 500 more jobs in the state, and announced that it is hiring immediately. In a statement, the company announced that these are full-time, full-benefit positions with career advancement opportunities. Additionally, the company has flexible part-time positions. Quad/Graphics encourages anyone interested in its job opportunities to visit the Careers page on its website, QG.com, or call 1-800-682-JOBS.
"We are hiring because we are adding work to our Wisconsin network of plants as we continue to manage our overall platform, migrating work to facilities where we can manufacture and distribute it most efficiently," the company said in the statement. "In addition, as we win new work, we continue to fill available capacity on our most efficient platforms, too. Our Wisconsin platform, which consists of 15 major manufacturing, distribution and related facilities, is among the most efficient platforms in the entire printing industry."
In the statement, Quad/Graphics said that it had many options for where to create the 500 jobs, with highly efficient manufacturing facilities in multiple states. Quad/Graphics said that it appreciates the incentives provided by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Over the next five years, the WEDC will provide $15.7 million in tax credits for job creation, capital expenditures and training. Specifically, as Quad/Graphics meets its goals, it will receive $3.14 million per year in tax credits as follows: $1.6 million for job creation; $1 million for capital expenditures; and $500,000 for training.
The WEDC understands the value that these jobs bring to Wisconsin and the fact that these jobs could have been created elsewhere given Quad/Graphics’ extensive national network of printing facilities. "The WEDC stepped up and partnered with us to ensure that Wisconsin’s job seekers and economy would be beneficiaries of this effort," noted the company.
With this announcement, Quad/Graphics said that it is quite possible that it will create the 500 jobs in fewer than five years. Currently, Quad/Graphics has 7,756 full-time and part-time employees in Wisconsin; approximately 20,000 across the U.S.
In the last five years, Quad/Graphics has added more than 2,100 jobs in Wisconsin, and has increased the number of Wisconsin locations from seven to 15. Across the U.S., the company has approximately 65 manufacturing and distribution locations. Worldwide, Quad/Graphics today has 75 plants, nearly 25,000 employees and $4.9 billion in sales.
