SUSSEX, Wis.—Quad/Graphics has filed a site plan with the Franklin (Wisconsin) Community Development Authority to add approximately 60,000 square feet for printing, packaging and warehousing at the former Proteus Packaging plant, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.
Quad/Graphics projects the cost of the addition to the building, which is located in the Franklin Business Park, to be $3.2 million, according to the plan. The Development Authority will consider the request for building and site plan approvals at a meeting on Thursday.
The paper said that the expansion will include two additions, one on the north side of the facility (48,640 square feet) and another on the west side (15,360). The building is currently just shy of 242,000 square feet.
Proteus Packaging and Transpak Corp. were purchased by Quad/Graphics in 2013 and became part of QuadPackaging.
Quad/Graphics did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
