Each year there are more new designs and methods of personalization, and trends start to emerge from what is being offered to what customers purchase. The Stationery Studio, the industry's leader in online personalized stationery and gifts, has put together its top five industry trends for 2013.
Renee Redman, owner of The Stationery Studio, shares her insight on the top five stationery trends she's seen in 2013.
Vintage
Renee Redman: Vintage is making a statement this year from invitations to placemats to napkins. Beautiful styles have reemerged and have been a hot trend for bridal showers, baby showers and weddings.
Colors
RR: In 2013, we have been enjoying the beautiful shades of blue from navy to sapphire to aqua to the many tones of green including Emerald, the Pantone color of 2013. Looking ahead to 2014, we look forward to the bold and rich tones of red and claret and oxblood which will give a fresh take on custom gifts.
Monogram
RR: We are seeing monograms everywhere from initial block monograms to elegant interconnecting script monograms. These have been a very hot trend in 2013 across all segments of the personalized market from paper goods to home accents. There is nothing more unique and sophisticated than a monogram.
Letterpress
RR: Rich and elegant, letterpress features an old world printing technique which dates back to the 1400's. This method has recently made a huge resurgence in popularity and we've created lines exclusive to The Stationery Studio to meet the demand.
Mixing Typestyles
RR: Mixing large script letters and clean block fonts gives a fabulous look to typesetting and gives a "must-have" look to anything personalized. This trend has been become quite popular with baby announcements, bridal shower invitations and note cards.
