RIT's Cross-media Innovation Center Seeking Call for Papers
ROCHESTER, NY—July 1, 2013—The RIT School of Media Sciences’ (SMS) Cross-Media Innovation Center (CMIC) is seeking position papers and original research for publication and presentation at the annual CMIC Summit held in Rochester, NY, October 9-10, 2013.
Presentations will be 30 minutes and articles published in the RIT CMIC Summit proceedings following the summit. Submission of articles from industry practitioners (graphic arts service providers and system providers (hardware and software), academics and university students are encouraged.
The CMIC research agenda studies the processes and practices that innovate, transform and connect within publishing, transactional, and promotional communications with specific focus on the intersection between the business strategies and production variables of print, Web, mobile, and social media. Specific areas of interest for this year’s summit include:
- Business Strategy: Media Mix, Message, Audience, Metrics, Intent
- Content: Content Types, Tools, Standards, Metadata, Editing, Asset Management, Rights Management, Transcoding, Analytics, Cost-ROI
- Production: Technologies, Workflows, Automation, Standards, Materials, Process Control, Tools
- Deployment: Channel, Fulfillment, Data Collection
Authors should submit a 250 to 500 word abstract in MS Word or RTF format to NickPaulus@
NJPWML@RIT.EDU by August 15, 2013. Notification of acceptance to present will follow by or before August 30th.
