The two women entrepreneurs—Newman, Jewish, and Wafa, Muslim—connected immediately. They discussed Action Envelope’s workflow, training programs, equipment capabilities and human resource policies, as well as the major road blocks Wafa faces as her country’s only female commercial printer. Newman also took Wafa to visit National Envelope in Queens and to Muller Martini on Long Island to inquire about used equipment. Wafa even slept in her guest room.
