RYOBI MHI, Graphco to Sponsor Print UV 2015 Conference, Host First LED-UV Users Group Meeting
CLEVELAND—February 4, 2015—RYOBI MHI and Graphco continue their "Commit to Print" theme through sponsorship of the Print UV 2015 conference in Las Vegas, and for the first time the GSNA-RYOBI MHI LED-UV Users Group will meet to share ideas and learn more about the latest in UV printing. RYOBI MHI has been the industry leader in LED-UV offset print production with over 165 press installations worldwide since the commercial introduction of LED-UV curing for offset printing at drupa 2008.
Developed by RYOBI MHI and Panasonic, the G-3 LED-UV curing technology offers enhanced capabilities, considerable cost considerations and profit enhancements for offset printers worldwide. "More RYOBI MHI LED-UV presses are running in shops than any other brand and we will be available to share these success stories with Print UV 15 attendees," stated Derek Gordon, midwest regional manager of Graphco.
As the first and leading press manufacturer offering fully integrated LED-UV curing systems as a factory installed option, RYOBI MHI is glad to see that other manufacturers are now following the trend. "As the other manufacturers jump on the LED-UV bandwagon we feel that the acceptance of our very evolved technology will grow and grow," remarked Gordon. "It’s good to see our message has become mainstream and with so many RYOBI MHI LED-UV presses going in throughout North America we are thrilled to be at Print UV again this year."
Kozac Takata, group leader of RYOBI MHI sales and marketing, also added, "We are excited to see the RYOBI MHI LED-UV Users Group coming together at Print UV. Sharing our wealth of experience through so many installations worldwide will now be easier than ever and RYOBI MHI is here to support all of our customers in North America."
About RYOBI MHI LED-UV Technology
With RYOBI MHI LED-UV presses, the economics are compelling and well established. As a fully integrated factory option with extensive automation, a single operator can produce highly complex jobs with minimum set-up time. LED-UV curing saves 80 percent in energy costs versus conventional Hot-UV dryers. LED-UV lamps offer instant-on technology and yield more than 15 times the lifespan of conventional UV lamps. Importantly, LED-UV lamps add practically no heat to the printed sheet, sharply reduce CO2 emissions, eliminate ozone, require no spray powder, and eliminate the need for ducting. And over a dozen major ink and coating manufacturers provide LED-UV inks and coatings, providing choice, availability of product and lower supply costs.
RYOBI and Panasonic’s LED-UV technology was awarded Japan’s "Nippon Brand Prize" at the 39th Machine Design Award competition in 2009. It was also named a top new press technology at the 2013 Canadian Printing Awards. 2015 marks the second year for RYOBI MHI at Print UV being held March 1-3, at the Encore Las Vegas.
