Segerdahl Open House Celebrates New Facility
CHICAGO—The engines were roaring and the crowd was applauding at the Segerdahl Graphics open house held at the company’s new 90,000-square-foot facility recently.
The new facility is the final step in Segerdahl merging its three individual companies, Columbia Graphics, e-PreMedia Services and Falcon Communications, earlier this year.
The open house event featured a racing theme to emphasize the company’s “high-performance services, finely tuned ideas and solutions, as well as speedy turnarounds on customer projects.”
The event featured a series of eight seminars on four subjects critical to the success of any printing project. Industry experts from Kodak Polychrome Graphics, Komori America, Stora Enso and Segerdahl Graphics’ own postal expert, led the seminars on color proofing, print technology, paper selection and designing for postal efficiencies.
More than 180 customers enjoyed the opportunity to have their photos taken in Segerdahl Graphics’ photo studio alongside a Newman/Haas race car. Clients then toured the facility to learn about the entire array of graphic service capabilities that Segerdahl provides. The open house culminated with a rally to the tent area featuring networking time to discuss the seminars and tours while enjoying dinner, cocktails and a chance to view a collection of race, classic and exotic cars.
Sergerdahl’s new facility houses its prepress department, pressroom, bindery and photo studio.
During their tours, Sergerdahl’s clients also got a chance to admire the company’s new sheetfed press installations, which include two six-color Komori presses with aqueous coating towers, a four-color Komori with coating tower and a two-color Ryobi press.
