Sir Speedy of Naperville Expands Digital Printing Capabilities With Canon’s New Color Digital Press
BURLINGTON, NJ—June 30, 2008—Canon Business Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. and leading provider of document imaging and office solutions, announced that Sir Speedy of Naperville, Illinois, has selected the Canon imagePRESS C7000VP digital color production press to make its short-run digital printing more efficient and provide the ability to tap new revenue opportunities through expanded services. The imagePRESS C7000VP will also enable Sir Speedy to expand its offerings within the area of variable data printing (VDP).
Installed at its new facility in Naperville, Sir Speedy looked to Canon’s imagePRESS C7000VP to help improve its existing short-run printing services. The fast speed, coupled with a robust engine and competitive price point, made it possible for Sir Speedy of Naperville to offer clients high quality output in short runs.
Additionally, Sir Speedy uses Fusion Pro, a Web-based software solution that enhances the production of customized color and variable data printing (VDP) with the imagePRESS C7000VP to streamline the processes of creating, ordering, proofing, and processing varied print data. Sir Speedy will specifically apply Fusion Pro to letters, flyers and other documents containing diverse text and images that would otherwise result in extensive production time and costs.
“We were at a point in our business where we had to decide whether to grow in line with our customer needs or remain stagnant. Canon’s new technology allowed us to expand our offering and subsequently meet the changing needs of customers. We thought if we are going to do it, we need to do it right,” said Julie Phillips, Owner and President, Sir Speedy of Naperville. “With Canon’s technology, we foresee new productivity levels that will translate not only into business benefits for our organization, but for our customers as well.”
Sir Speedy of Naperville has been in business for over 23 years, earning various awards for their outstanding growth and customer service. The acquisition of a new solution to support the needs of their customers should only help to continue their history of excellence.
“The Canon imagePRESS C7000VP is helping businesses like Sir Speedy meet the increasing demand for short run output that rivals offset image quality, said Dennis Uhniat, executive vice president, Canon Business Solutions, Inc. “We’re proud of the acceptance the imagePRESS series has received in the marketplace and the increased opportunities and revenues it affords our customers.”
