Skip Prichard to Depart Ingram Content Group
NASHVILLE, TN—May 25, 2012—David (Skip) Prichard, the president and CEO of Ingram Content Group, announced he will leave the company effective June 8. Until then, he will ensure a smooth transition to Chairman John R. Ingram who will assume the CEO duties.
Prichard joined Ingram in 2007. Under his leadership, the Ingram businesses were reorganized and in 2009 fully integrated into a new company called Ingram Content Group. Prichard designed a new strategy around market segments, helping transition the company to a services provider for publishers.
Ingram noted that today, in large part due to Prichard’s leadership, the integration has been very successful with Ingram’s business growing significantly over the past three years.
“Skip rebranded and refocused our efforts within Ingram Content, and through a well designed strategy, hard work and energetic leadership repositioned our companies to succeed in the fast changing publishing environment.”
In commenting on his tenure at Ingram and his future plans, Prichard said, “When John hired me five years ago, he shared his vision and I signed on to make that vision a reality. I signed up to accomplish certain goals, and those goals have all been met one by one.
“With solid positions in all of our markets yielding terrific results, I feel I have accomplished what I set out to do. I now will do some consulting and then look for a new role that will consume me as much as this one has. I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Ingram,” he added
In addition to spearheading critical business changes at Ingram, Prichard also launched an online blog called “Leadership Insights” in which he shares leadership principles and interviews thought leaders. Prichard said he would continue his successful blog even after he leaves Ingram Content Group.
Ingram said as CEO he will “continue to focus Ingram’s capabilities to help content creators, publishers, institutions and retailers respond to the changing content marketplace and to provide creative solutions across the content supply chain.”
