Solo Printing Purchases Second Five-Color Komori System 38S Web Press

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL—March 13, 2014—Komori America, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Solo Printing in Miami, has purchased its second fully automated five-color System 38S web press. Solo Printing serves the retail, communications and electronics industries printing brochures, publications, self-mailers, catalogs and a variety of other materials. Extremely satisfied with the advanced automation of the six-color System 38S installed several years ago, Solo chose to retire a competitive press in favor of a second Komori System 38S web press, which now makes Solo Printing an all Komori facility.

"We have been extremely happy with our Komori’s presses, both sheetfed and web," said Manny Hernandez, president of Solo Printing. "Komori designs presses with such advanced automation it is hard to find anything on the market that competes. Our first Komori System 38S sliced turnaround time in half. Having two in operation is going to dramatically increase our production capabilities. We continually need quicker turnaround at a better price that we can pass on to our customers—and once again, we believe Komori is the answer."

With automatic plate changing capabilities, closed-loop color, inline aqueous and gluing, many of Solo Printing’s applications can be printed and assembled in one quick operation. Its KHS-AI interface system supports the need to minimize paper waste and allows for more efficient plant operations, supporting Solo Printing’s sustainability goals.
