Standard Opens New Customer Demonstration and Training Center
ANDOVER, MA—June 30, 2009—Standard Finishing Systems has christened a new, 15,000 square-foot National Customer Demonstration and Training Center as part of a year-long renovation of their corporate headquarters. This customer-focused facility is equipped with a complete range of feeding and finishing solutions. The center is staffed by an on-site team of paper handling and post-press specialists who have decades of application expertise and can demonstrate the power and savings of intelligent automation.
End-to-end Solutions
Nearly every Standard solution is set-up and ready-to-run, including Horizon perfect binders, three-knife trimmers, floor-model folders, and saddlestitchers. This line-up is complimented by Standard Hunkeler unwinders, rewinders, rotary cutters, stackers, plow-folders, and fan folders for continuous-feed digital printers. Highly integrated solutions—notably in-line saddlestitching and folding—are also showcased, to demonstrate high-speed finishing for production digital printers. Various Standard KAS short-run mail inserting solutions round-out the presentation.
State-of-the-art Training Center
The state-of-the-art Center is also equipped with seven dedicated service training classrooms so that Standard dealers, third-party service partners and customers can receive in-depth technical and operator’s training on Standard products. The flexible classrooms are designed so any combination of product-specific training can be conducted at the same time. “Our training programs have been developed for effective and efficient learning” said Stan Martin, Director of Technical Services, “so service professionals and customers leave our facilities with the competence they need to maximize up-time and productivity.”
Seeing is Believing
Visitors to the Center are encouraged to bring sample jobs so they can be tested and evaluated with the customer to determine the most efficient finishing method. “This investment allows our best customers and prospects to see their own applications run in a live production environment” said David Reny, Executive Vice President, Standard Finishing Systems. “They also see the breadth of our product line, consult with our application specialists, meet our management team, and gain a better understanding of how we leverage the power of intelligent automation across the bindery. Having all this under one roof has helped us organize very efficient and productive customer visits.”
Standard will showcase 10,600 square-feet of in-line and off-line feeding and finishing solutions under the theme “Think Intelligent Automation” in booth 2637 at Print 09. Over fifty live applications will be running to demonstrate the power of post-press automation. Standard Horizon and Standard Hunkeler solutions will also be shown throughout the halls at Print 09 in cooperation with nearly a dozen printer vendor, mailroom, verification and other graphic arts partners.
