Star*Key Software Releases Version 8.5 of Presstimator Print Estimating Software
Star*Key Software, creator of the estimating software program for newspapers and web offset printers, the Presstimator, has released an update to its standalone estimating application. Here are some highlights of the new features:
- Quote Compare Analysis: Users can apply filters and select multiple jobs/estimates from the Quote History screen to generate a report in Excel to compare all aspects (cost, selling price and production actuals) of the selected quotes. Gain a global perspective on a given customer over time, or compare jobs to see which is more profitable.
- Batch Invoice Printing and New Tax Summary Report: As always, you can design your invoice using the custom layout tool, and bulk invoicing is now possible with a click of a button, after marking the jobs that are ready to be invoiced on the Job History screen. In addition, to handle billing that is based on delivery locations that may have different tax rates, we have developed new invoicing options. If you opt to include details with the printed invoice, the Presstimator provides an additional report that has a breakdown of all of the costs associated with each drop zone in the job, along with the various tax rates applied to each zone. At the end of a fiscal quarter, you can print a report that summarizes the federal, state and local taxes collected from each customer and/or drop zone.
- Dashboards for Presstimator and Scheduling: For customers with multiple plants, the new Dashboard apps allow oversight of every shop from one location. Using the Presstimator Dashboard, you can view a plant’s Shop Settings and Quotes, and you can even generate reports and perform an analysis remotely for each plant. The Scheduling Dashboard makes it easy to view and modify the calendars from each plant. View shared calendars within a single app to facilitate job scheduling across multiple plants. By using the new Dashboard tools from a remote location, you can connect and view the Presstimator and Scheduling for each plant as though you’re sitting in the building.
