Sign Up to Attend Industry's 'Academy Awards' Gala
CHICAGO—Don't miss your opportunity to hobnob with the stars of the printing industry during GRAPH EXPO 14 on Monday evening, Sept. 29, when the show closes at 5 p.m. Complete with a lengthy, open-bar cocktail reception featuring a live jazz quartet to allow ample networking opportunities, followed by a star-studded awards gala and sit-down dinner, the Gold Ink Awards & Printing Industry Hall of Fame Gala has often been referred to by past attendees as the "Academy Awards" event of the printing industry. And, new this year, will be the addition of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) alumni reception, enabling even more opportunities to make new business introductions and catch up with old friends and existing contacts.
Marking its 30th anniversary, the 2014 Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame induction class will include Jon Budington, CEO of Global Printing in Alexandria, VA; David DeLana, president of Heritage—The Integrated Resource of El Reno, OK; Marty Liebert, founder, president and CEO of Freedom Graphic Systems in Milton, WI; and Chris Pierce, chairman of The Dingley Press in Lisbon, ME. Don't miss your opportunity to pay tribute to their accomplishments in person. And, in honor of the 30th anniversary Hall of Fame milestone, this year's gala event will be even more spectacular.
Also honored are the winners of the 2014 Gold Ink Awards printing contest. Chosen from more than 1,000 entries, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Pewter awards were chosen in 49 categories. The 49 Gold Award-winning pieces will be on full display during the reception, allowing attendees to cast their votes for the Best of Show. The votes will be tallied in real time and the People's Choice Award winner will be announced during the program.
But, don't fret; unlike some other awards banquets, the Gold Ink Awards are showcased in a video during dinner, so the program moves quickly and the event doesn't turn into a marathon, late-hour affair. We're cognizant that most of the attendees have had a long day attending GRAPH EXPO, and will be back at the show bright and early the next day. And, to make it convenient to attend, the Gold Ink Awards & Printing Industry Hall of Fame Gala is held in the Regency Ballroom at the McCormick Place Hotel, which is directly attached to McCormick Place—making it a short walk from show floor to the nearby ballroom.
