Police Seizure Nets $400K in Stolen HP Indigo Supplies
PALO ALTO, CA—Technology provider HP says it is fully committed to its HP Indigo customers, channels and partners and will continue to vigorously defend its brand and intellectual property (IP) against theft, as well as the actions of illegal dealers.
To do this, HP is actively combating black market sales of its products and pursuing companies found to be in violation of the law. On Dec. 4, the New York City Police Department executed an enforcement action in New York City, seizing approximately $400,000 of stolen HP Indigo supplies destined for sale on the black market. Additional enforcement actions will be pursued against the alleged dealer, as well as against those that provided the stolen supplies as determined based on the seized goods and other findings.
HP is also implementing a comprehensive brand protection strategy for HP Indigo supplies, including an end-to-end track and trace solution, improvements in the security of its supply chain, fraud prevention built into software and hardware, as well as investigation-led enforcement actions.
