Wausau Paper Ponders Division's Future

MOSINEE, WI—Wausau Paper is trying to determine the next move for its division that manufactures paper for writing and printed publications. The floundering division is being reviewed by Wausau, and options could include a sale, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

The announcement came during a disappointing quarterly report that saw sales and earnings drop precipitously. Net income for the quarter suffered a free fall of more than 60 percent compared to the previous year.

In a statement, the company said it is consulting with a financial adviser to determine the fate of its division that produces printing and writing grade paper. It did not give a timeframe for a decision.
