TEGERNSEE, GERMANY—FEBRUARY 13, 2008—Sun Chemical has today unveiled the first details of its plans for Drupa at the PrintCity Media Event in Tegernsee, Germany, which will involve world-leading innovations covering the publication, packaging, commercial and industrial sectors.
Quality, service and innovation – as well as environmental issues – will be top of the agenda for Sun Chemical’s offering at Drupa, taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 29 May to 11 June. Sun Chemical’s pioneering inks will be used on many of the presses that will be running at the exhibition - and there will be numerous surprises for visitors to Sun Chemical’s 600sq m stand, located in Hall 6 Stand B75.
“Working for you” is the new tag line for Sun Chemical, the world’s largest producer of printing inks, coatings and pigments. The company - a subsidiary of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals (DIC) based in Tokyo, Japan, has an unmatched global network covering 300 locations in 56 countries, 12,000 employees and 10 world-wide research and development centers.
“Our customers’ needs are driving the way forward,” said Felipe Mellado, Sun Chemical’s Corporate Vice-President, Marketing. “These days, it’s not just about having the best products, it’s about having the complete customer-focused value-added package. Sun Chemical exceeds, not just aims to meet, its clients’ needs. Our global footprint enables us to deliver solutions in local markets worldwide.
“Drupa will be the perfect showcase to demonstrate our latest innovations as part of the strategic direction driven by Rudi Lenz, our new chief executive officer and president. These will range from the latest low-migration products in packaging; new technologies for newspapers; new environmentally-friendly sheetfed inks in the commercial market; and new products for very large format graphic printers. We will also be unveiling the latest developments in color management, such as SmartColour.
“Hall 6 will provide an important opportunity to share best practice and understanding in the way we work with and for our customers,” Mellado said.
