Sun Chemical has named Wes Lucas CEO. He will continue in his role of president. Lucas succeeds Henri Dyner, who has stepped down after more than 28 years with Sun Chemical. Dyner will continue with the company on a part-time basis in an advisory role.
CRC Information Systems has announced a new pricing system that will reduce the initial investment in CRC's management software, called The System. Under the new program, companies can acquire The System with no upfront license fee. The customer simply pays for training and software support.
IST America has named Karl L. Schmucker web sales representative, responsible for end user applications. Before joining IST, Schmucker held positions with Nilpeter and Goss Graphic Systems.
Michael Zigarelli has joined the outside sales staff of Roosevelt Paper. He will work out of the company's Northeast division in Mount Laurel, NJ, and cover the northern part of the state.
Goss International has acquired the assets of Goss Graphic Systems, together with the shareholdings in its international operations. CSFB Global Opportunities Partners, the majority shareholder of Goss International, is associated with Credit Suisse First Boston. Additional investors include JPMorgan Chase Bank, LBI Group and DK Acquisition Partners.
Network Distribution International (NDI), a converter and wholesaler of printing blankets and pressroom chemicals, has purchased certain assets of Graphic Technologies Inc. (GTI). The assets to be acquired include GTI's inventories, equipment and all of GTI's trademarks. Brian Harris will serve as GTI's president and Chris DeRosa will serve as vice president of sales.
xpedx, a distributor of printing and graphic imaging prepress equipment and supplies, has signed on to become an Enfocus Software certified reseller and certified trainer. Under the program, xpedx will resell the latest Enfocus certified PDF workflow solutions, as well as offer certified training and support for those products. In addition to having Enfocus certified sales experts, xpedx will have a certified Enfocus trainer on staff at its Digital Imaging National Technology Center located in Cleveland to support its customers on Enfocus' solutions.
X-Rite Inc. and Monaco Systems have teamed up to provide solutions for advanced color profiling. New X-Rite Color Ensemble Solutions featuring Monaco's MonacoPROOF color management solution and X-Rite's color measurement instruments will now be available directly from X-Rite.
Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department recently held its International Printing Week. At the event, Heidelberg USA was honored during the dedication of a four-color Quickmaster DI 20 digital press donated to Cal Poly. Gary Meinke, western vice president at Heidelberg, was presented with a Partner in Education plaque and a dedication poster produced on the press. Also, Patrick Marchese, president and CEO of Markzware, was honored as a Partner in Education for his ongoing support and contributions of FlightCheck preflighting software.
