Graphic arts distributor Enovation Graphic Systems has named Steve Bennett as the company's new vice president of product marketing and communications.
Sun Chemical has named Brad Bergey as COO of Kohl & Madden, its business unit devoted to inks used by sheetfed, forms and combination printers in the commercial market. It is planned that Bergey will succeed George Dunn, the current president of Kohl & Madden, when he retires in April. Bergey began his career with Sun Chemical in 1978, and has held several key positions in operations and finance management. Most recently, he has served as a Sun Chemical corporate vice president.
Compass Capital Partners has announced several organizational changes. Gabriel F. Nagy, Esq., president & COO, has phased into retirement. Compass simultaneously announced the promotion of Peter Schaefer to president & COO and Katherine Shoenfelt to senior vice president, administration. Also, the company announced an affiliation with the Griffin Group LLP, an investment banking firm in Reading, PA.

Kathryn Marx, vice president of marketing and strategic planning at Flint Ink, has been elected chair of NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies. Announced at NPES' recent annual conference, she is the 25th chief executive officer of NPES and the first woman elected to the post in the association's 70-year history. In other association news, Gerald Nathe, president and CEO of Baldwin Technology, and Bernal Inc. received the 2003 Harold W. Gegenheimer Awards for Industry Service.
Printable Technologies announced plans to acquire PrintReady from Extensis. An application service, PrintReady provides preflight file inspection, compression and transfer capabilities. In other news, Sean Sullivan has been appointed to the newly created position of director, strategic accounts/alternative channels.
Mohawk Paper Mills has begun purchasing non-polluting wind power, reportedly making it the first paper mill in the United States to use wind power for its manufacturing operations. The wind energy will be used at the company's Cohoes, NY, facility, and will be generated at New York State's largest wind farm, near Syracuse.
MAN Roland has made several personnel announcements. Vincent Lapinski has moved up from senior vice president to become COO of web operations and a member of the board of directors. The company appointed Douglas Bradley to the post of vice president, web service. Paul Pirkle assumes the role of vice president, commercial web sales. Todd Andrews is the new general manager of the Eastern region for sheetfed press sales. Also, Mark Juratich has been tapped for the position of manager, newspaper add-on business.
Woodward Jogger Aerators has added two additional salespeople. Joining the company are brothers Tom and John Scillieri, who will assist with new and established accounts nationwide.
Tensor Group is celebrating its 10th anniversary by setting sales records. The company reports that, in the past two years, it has more than doubled its sales revenue and is about to achieve its best year in terms of sales. In the past several months, Tensor reports it has received firm contracts for more than 110 units and seven folders from customers worldwide.
KBA North America and Sun Chemical have signed a three-year agreement to jointly research and develop water-washable inks, specifically Shark W ink, for KBA's Cortina waterless web offset newspaper press.
