Colter & Peterson announced that Bill Dwyer has been appointed as its new manager in charge of dealer sales for Saber, Prism, Schneider Engineering and Maxima Plus paper cutters, as well as Knorr, Rachner and Schneider paper handling equipment.
Van Son has appointed Robert Speijer as president of Van Son Holland Ink of America. Van Son's most recent president, Joe Bendowski, has decided to change his responsibilities and begin his transition toward retirement after 40 years with the company. Speijer comes to Van Son with more than 20 years of experience in management and marketing at the international level. In addition, John Sammis, as general manager, has been given overall responsibility for national sales of offset inks in America.
Flint Ink has announced several organizational changes within its North American operations. Bill Miller has been named president of Flint Ink North America. Miller was previously vice president and general manager of the company's North American Publication division. He replaces Paul Schroeder who stepped down in November. Susan Kuchta has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the North American Publication and Commercial Ink division. She was previously vice president of sales for the division. Jim Bennett, who formerly headed the commercial group, is working with Flint-Schmidt, the company's European business unit, to complete integration of its operations following the merger of Gebrüder Schmidt and Flint Ink Europe last May.
Brian Ivens has rejoined Arpeco Engineering in the capacity of manager of marketing and sales support, finishing equipment. Ivens was previously with the company from 1977 to 1993.
NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies has been chosen by the Russian Printing Industry Association to develop and operate a Eurasia sales and service center for graphic communications technologies in Russia. The Russian association received a $164,600 grant for the project from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
Pantone Inc. has hired recognized PDF and digital workflow expert Michael Jahn as "evangelist" for PANTONE Hexachrome, the company's six-color printing process.
Tembec Paperboard Group reports that Neal Haussel has joined its sales team as an account executive in New York. Also, Mike Whorton has been hired as an account executive, based in Marietta, GA.
Delphax Technologies plans to consolidate its North American manufacturing and engineering operations at its Mississauga, Ontario, facility. The company, headquartered in Minnetonka, MN, expects to incur approximately $1 million in restructuring expenses over the course of the consolidation, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Quad/Tech Inc. has purchased fellow register control systems company PressTech Controls, based in England. The company also announced that David Barton has been appointed the company's new director of sales.
Roll Systems announced the appointment of Jeff Marini as vice president, U.S. sales. Marini was formerly area sales director for Roll Systems, responsible for sales management of the western half of the United States. He replaces Tom Murphy, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Dan Ouellet has joined Pasquariello Graphics, North Attleboro, MA, as a service technician. Ouellet, who has more than 10 years of experience with folding and binding equipment, is now responsible for technical training and service.
MAN Roland has announced the development of an educational effort that will help printers secure stable and cost-effective financing for their capital equipment needs. Called "Effective Financing for Printers," the program will warn against attractively 'packaged' creative financing proposals that offer artificially low initial payments, but major medium- to long-term risks. This informational effort will also provide an overview of financing basics from a graphic arts perspective, so printers can make more educated decisions on obtaining capital for new equipment.
A.B.Dick has changed to direct sales and service in three markets. The West Palm Beach/Fort Lauderdale area in Florida, Chino, CA, and Everett, WA, markets are affected.
The Litho Club of Chicago recently awarded the Dennis Deahr Scholarship to Jennifer Schmuhl, of Palatine, IL. The scholarship, which is dedicated to assisting graphic arts students, was awarded to Schmuhl, a student enrolled in Triton College's graphic arts program. The Dennis Deahr Scholarship was established in 1999 by Day International to honor the late Dennis Deahr, a long-time Day International district manager who served printers throughout the state of Illinois for almost 29 years.
Océ has announced the integration of two previously independent business units, Océ Production Printing Systems and Océ Document Printing Systems, in order to better serve customer business requirements. The company will be known as Océ Printing Systems USA.

Prior to joining Presstek, Davison was founder and president of Point Balance, a business consulting and process design firm in Massachusetts. The company also announced the retirement of Richard Williams, chief scientific officer.
Xeikon America has named Gordon Gallamore as regional manager for the Northwest. He joins the company from Heidelberg, where he was a regional sales representative.
Enovation Graphic Systems has acquired Nelson-Keystone Inc., a distributor to the graphic communications industry with branches in Fullerton, CA, San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix. Enovation also has reported several personnel moves. Phil Van Duyne is the new regional director for the Northwest region. Paul Colona now serves as product manager responsible for pressroom products. Also, Tim Young is the new regional director for the Southwest region.
