The major theme emerging from all presentations was the continued need for transparency and that there are advancements and opportunities to overcome sustainability's challenges.
"We are environmentally sound today and we will be even better next year because of SGP," stated dik Bolger, president & CEO of Bolger where the event was hosted. He continued, "Measurement is critical as it is how you show improvement. We can all get better. If you do not measure, and you talk green, it is simply greenwashing."
In addition to an overview of SGP and Bolger's program, the agenda m included a range of sustainability topics relevant to the printing industry. Lynn Hoffman of Eureka Recycling, a local non-profit municipal recycling facility spoke about the opportunities and limitations of recycling.
