Symcor Expands TransPromo Offering with Océ JetStream Press
TORONTO—July 6, 2009—Symcor, one of North America’s leading document processing and transactional printing companies announced they have recently invested in a new continuous full colour printer in partnership with Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery. The Océ JetStream 1500 full colour ink-jet press will play a key role in Symcor’s evolving TransPromo offerings. The printer has been installed and is fully operational at Symcor’s production facility in Toronto.
Symcor helps businesses transform more than 700 million customer bills and statements each year into more efficient and effective communication tools. “Our clients in the financial services, retail and telecommunications industries are under extraordinary competitive pressures, and they need to offer innovative, economical products and services," says Meegan Hinds, Symcor's Senior Vice President and General Manager, Integrated Statement Services. "By using the Océ JetStream equipment, we'll help our customers enhance the value of their statements, expand their environmental leadership and improve competitiveness.”
As part of the TransPromo service, Symcor will help clients add targeted marketing messages to their statement, reduce the cost of inserts and make the statements more effective using colour. The Océ JetStream 1500 will allow Symcor to replace the pre-printed form and/or add highlight colour or full colour images at economical prices.
Symcor chose the Océ JetStream 1500 system after an extensive technology review. The inkjet digital printing system supports high-quality full-colour variable data output at ultra-high speed. It also allows MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) printing for reliable automatic scanning, at speeds higher than the fastest black variable printers on the market. The unique inline combination of MICR and full color inkjet printing gives Symcor a streamlined, efficient production workflow with outstanding job versatility.
“We are proud to help Symcor expand their presence in the growing TransPromo area,” says Patrick D’Souza, COO and Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Production Printing Systems Division, Océ-Canada Inc. "Symcor prints and mails millions of statements a year, and the Océ JetStream platform provides both the horsepower and the professional colour printing that will ensure successful high-volume TransPromo results. Océ has quickly established leadership in the high-speed, full color inkjet market. The diverse Océ inkjet portfolio translates into high-quality, cost-effective solutions for customers like Symcor that are ready to expand their own services, reduce costs, and grow their business.”
