Commercial Printer Texas Litho Expands Operations, Makes Houston Business Journal's 'Fast 100' List
HOUSTON—August 22, 2014—Texas Litho, a commercial printing firm based here, has made its debut on the Houston Business Journal's 2014 Fast 100 List. When Texas Litho President Rex Chu took over his family's business three years ago, he implemented several changes, along with production manager Matthew Welsh, which included adding new members to the company's sales team, while also adding 1,000 square feet to the existing space to expand the operations and boost production, reported the Houston Business Journal.
Texas Litho was founded in 1981 by Rex's father, Min Chu. The company started out as a single storefront in a strip center. Today, it employs 18 people, and in 2013, revenue was reported at almost $3 million, according to the Journal.
Texas Litho’s staff still practices the craft of fine printing with the latest technologies from Heidelberg and HP Indigo. The company produces sales tags, magazines and brochures, and now produces wide-format product offerings, such as store and yard signs.
