A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (with degrees in communications and business), his professional working history includes stops with Play It Again Sports—where he was a manager—and Amoco Corp., where he was lead painter. He'd attended college with plans on becoming a teacher, but his interests soon shifted to business.
