The Garvey Group Poised to Add More Multicolor Long-Run Capacit

For the past several years, the Garvey Group has been investing in new equipment at many of its locations, including Sturtevant. The new KBA Rapida 105 ten-color perfecting press joins a KBA Rapida 105 41-inch four-color perfector sheetfed press that was installed in September 2004 at Sturtevant. With the installation of the KBA Rapida 105 four-color perfector press, the Sturtevant location replaced three older presses: a two-color 40-inch, a two-color perfector, and a six-color 25-inch sheetfed press. The KBA Rapida 105 four-color perfector press gave Garvey the flexibility of producing two-over-two jobs or straight four-color work and the ability to perfect on coated stock, something the firm could not do before. In addition, the Garvey Group installed a KBA Rapida 162 64-inch six-color sheetfed press with UV and hybrid ink capabilities in March 2004 at its Nile, IL. facility.
