The Tea Leaf Wins $10,000 Marketing Makeover from Vistaprint
VENLO, THE NETHERLANDS—Nov. 15, 2010—Vistaprint N.V., a leading online provider of professional marketing products and services to micro businesses and the home, announced that the Tea Leaf, located in Waltham, MA, has been selected as a winner of the Vistaprint “Make an Impression” contest. This unique micro business will receive a marketing makeover valued at $10,000 from Vistaprint.
More than 875 U.S.-based micro businesses entered Vistaprint’s contest for a chance to receive one of four $10,000 marketing makeovers. The grand prize packages include a $600 HP gift card, a Web commercial produced by Pixability and a full marketing package—including a targeted direct mail campaign—designed by Vistaprint’s creative design team. The goal of the contest was to give four deserving businesses the chance to take that next step and truly market themselves like they never had before.
The Tea Leaf was selected as a winner because owner Sally Collura’s story can serve as an inspiration to budding entrepreneurs across the country. After years spent dreaming of owning her own business and two years searching for the perfect location, Collura finally set up shop in Waltham at the age of 57. The mission was to create a place where people could come to relax, unwind, read or enjoy time with friends. With this package, she’ll have the opportunity to open her doors to new friends.
“I was truly surprised when I was informed that I was one of the winners,” said Collura. “The economy really hindered my ability to market my business, but this package is going to change that. I am thrilled to be able to have the creative team from Vistaprint help me design my new materials.”
Founded in 2005, the Tea Leaf offers patrons an elegant and relaxed escape from hectic schedules. The 20-seat tea room offers savory lunches, three-course afternoon tea and desserts. The Tea Leaf is located in the historic center of downtown Waltham and offers teas from around the world, tea tastings and specialty events.
“Sally’s story is truly inspirational for anyone who ever wanted to start a business. We’ve heard the story time and time again of obstacles stopping people from achieving their dreams, but she was determined to make her dream into a reality,” said Bridget O’Brien, vice president of marketing communications at Vistaprint. “When Sally founded the Tea Leaf, she created a warm and welcoming environment and brand experience for customers. We’re excited to help create her new marketing materials to expose her business to more people.”
Winners of the “Make an Impression Contest” were selected by a panel of Vistaprint executives as well as voting done on the contest micro site. Entries received up to 30 points for originality, how they would use the prize package, entrant industry and up to 10 points from the open voting period.
