Presstek Provides Graph Expo Preview
PHILADELPHIA—Representatives from Presstek traveled to Printing Impressions' headquarters Thursday to reveal the new products they plan to launch at GRAPH EXPO, Oct. 3-6 in Chicago. These include thermal plates, computer-to-plate devices (CTP) and a direct imaging offset press.
On the plate side, Presstek will launch the Aurora EXP chemistry-free, daylight-safe thermal plate, which is currently being beta tested. Also shown will be the Aeon thermal plate for runs up to 1 million impressions (baked).
A pair of two-page platesetters will debut at GRAPH EXPO: the DPM Pro-400 poly/paper platesetter, with a compact footprint, low chemistry usage and able to produce 29 plates per hour (pph) at 2,400 dpi; and the Vector FL 52-AL version of the chemistry-free metal CTP system that adds an auto-loader.
After a successful debut at Ipex, Presstek will launch its 75DI digital offset press at GRAPH EXPO 2010. It is notable for reducing prepress time to under four minutes. Jobs can go from a digital file to ink on paper in just 10 minutes, said Mark Sullivan, group product director for digital printing. The B2-format (31.02x23.62˝ sheet) press, available in four- to 10-color configurations with an optional coater, can print six-up 8.5x11" pages.
