Woman Gets Jail for Embezzlement
A New Hampshire woman who stole more than $600,000 from a family-run printing business in Bellows Falls was sentenced on Thursday to two years in a federal prison. U.S. District Judge J. Garvin Murtha handed down the sentence to Julie Ann Garrow after Garrow pleaded guilty to writing false checks and to filing false tax statements.
Garrow worked as a bookkeeper at Vermont Graphics, a small printing business owned by the Gehley family. For more than 14 years, Garrow changed check amounts and wrote checks to herself. Garrow stole the money even while she knew the company was struggling...
