Transcontinental Sells Miami Valley Plant to Its Former GM
FAIRBORN, OH—Transcontinental Inc. is selling its Transcontinental Miami Valley printing facility to a company controlled by Ralph Pontillo. The transaction ensures the future of the plant, which specializes in insert printing for local retailers.
Pontillo, formerly general manager of the plant and now its owner, is a 2009 Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame inductee. The deal has him excited about the future of the company.
“This new start is a unique opportunity to keep serving our customers, while preserving jobs and making a vital contribution to the local economy,” he said. “Thanks to our specialized knowledge of local advertisers and retailers, we are in an excellent position to continue to contribute to the rich history of the Miami Valley printing plant.”
The Miami Valley facility was acquired by Transcontinental in 1986. It specializes in retail insert printing, such as grocery flyers, and commercial printing.
