ROCHESTER, NY—February 19, 2014—Tribune Direct, a long-time Kodak customer and early adopter of cutting-edge technology, is enhancing its production with the installation of its third Kodak NexPress digital production color press.
The Kodak NexPress digital production color press supports a range of substrate types, sizes, weights and thicknesses, including more than 800 standard offset substrates. The platform features Kodak NexPress HD Dry Ink, which provides smooth continuous tones for exceptional imaging, and Print Genius, a suite of productivity and quality-control tools which automate tasks for consistency throughout production runs.
“One of the advantages of Kodak’s portfolio of digital printing products is that the technology is very complementary and scalable, so customers can make investments that provide long-term growth opportunities,” noted Kodak’s John O’Grady, vice president and regional managing director, United States and Canada. “New capabilities can be implemented easily on older machines in the field, and our imaging science provides a platform that enables consistent, repeatable quality from device to device and job to job. Tribune Direct is a great example of a customer that has been able to expand seamlessly as its business has grown.”
Tribune Direct is a recognized leader in the direct marketing industry, offering direct mail to a broad range of clients on a national level and focusing on quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery—while adding strategic insights to every client program to increase response and ROI.
"Outstanding print quality is one of our strongest selling features," explained Tim Klunder, vice president of sales and client relations for Tribune Direct. "Our customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from a quality perspective, which tells us we are making the right decisions. Now, with this third device, we can offer additional capabilities such as 36" long sheets and increased capacity."
From very short runs of data-driven direct mail or single copies of publications to longer runs and frequent updates, the synergy between Tribune Direct’s Kodak Prosper 5000XL press and the NexPress Presses allows for quick turnaround and completely customizable advertising campaigns.
