Unisource Wins Gold, Silver in the Gold Ink Awards Competition
NORCROSS, GA—August 27, 2013—Printing Impressions magazine, producer of the annual Gold Ink Awards, announced that Unisource Worldwide has won a Gold Award for the entry titled, “Journeys on Nordic Plus,” in the Business Catalogs, Sheetfed category; and a Silver Award for the entry titled, “Ten Things You Can’t Do,” in the Softcover Books category. All winners can be found at www.GoldInk.com/winners-revealed.
Widely regarded as one of the industry's most prestigious printing competitions, the 2013 Gold Ink Awards received more than 1,000 entries submitted in 46 different categories. Winning pieces were chosen based on print quality, technical difficulty, and overall visual effect.
A Gold winner in the Business Catalogs, Sheetfed category, Unisource’s swatchbook, “Journeys on Nordic Plus”—printed on Unisource’s private brand Nordic Plus—features the theme “Uncharted Waters” and photography by photographer/commercial fisherman Corey Arnold. The piece brings attention to the plight of the world’s fishermen and the current state of the world’s fisheries.
Silver Award winner in the Softcover Books category, "Ten Things You Can’t Do," is a creative piece and emotional story that was printed on Unisource’s private brand Starbrite Opaque Ultra. The piece includes poignant narratives of 10 individuals who have had their lives changed through the Lakeshore Foundation and is designed to inspire others to join in and support this noteworthy cause.
The Lakeshore Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves people with physical disabilities throughout Alabama, across the country, and around the world. Since 1984, Lakeshore has helped advance and promote the impact of positive, long-term physical and emotional effects of physical fitness on people with disabilities.
“These awards further strengthen Unisource’s belief that using creative marketing tools is an effective approach to promote our business while bringing attention to notable causes,” said Al Dragone, CEO of Unisource Worldwide. “It’s an honor to be recognized by the printing industry, especially as we continue our support of worthwhile initiatives.”
Awards will be presented at the Gold Ink Awards & Hall of Fame Gala Monday evening, September 9, 2013, at the Hyatt McCormick Place Hotel in Chicago during PRINT 13.
