Unitedprint Successful Once Again in Dispute with Vistaprint
RADEBEUL, GERMANY—June 07, 2012—The final judgment of the Provincial High Court in Dresden rules in favor of the online printing works Unitedprint.com and its subsidiary company, print24 GmbH, in a dispute against Vistaprint. The background to the case is a judgment already passed by the Dresden District Court on Nov. 30, 2010, which determined that Vistaprint had gained a competitive advantage through unfair competition practices.
The Regional Court’s verdict on Sept. 30, 2011, ruled that Vistaprint is obliged to disclose information and pay any compensation due to print24. The appeal lodged by Vistaprint has now been rejected by a Provincial High Court. This verdict is final.
Vistaprint must now disclose the scale of the anti-competitive free advertising, outstanding orders, resulting turnover and incurred costs resulting from said orders. In addition, print24 will be compensated for damages caused by the unlawful actions conducted by VistaPrint starting from Feb. 11, 2011.
The amount in dispute was set at €170,000.
