On-Demand Book Solution Created

NEW YORK CITY—The Inventory Management Solution (IMS), an integrated production line for the manufacture of on-demand soft cover books, was unveiled recently. IMS was developed by Nipson, Muller Martini and Hunkeler collaboratively with printer R.R. Donnelley. The system can produce runs of under 100 to more than 1,000 books. The module, which converts a roll of stock into bound and boxed books, was scheduled to start this summer at R.R. Donnelley Print Solutions' book plant in Harrisonburg, VA.
