Heidelberg Expanding Press Line

HEIDELBERG, GERMANY—Sheetfed press manufacturer Heidelberg confirmed its worst-kept secret: the company is expanding its product line with a pair of presses. The presses, dubbed Speedmaster XL 142 and Speedmaster XL 162, will fall in the 6 (56˝) and 7b (64˝) format classes, respectively. The new presses will be unveiled at Drupa 2008. The expanding line is in response to the tremendous growth in packaging, particularly the need for the printing and finishing of folding cartons.
