Utility Bill Specialist Adds Ricoh InfoPrint 5000 for Color Messaging; Eliminates Pre-Printed Forms
MALVERN, Pa. — June 13, 2016 — Ricoh USA, today announced that Utilitec, an Ancor Co., and a premier outsourcing provider of customized print and electronic document services, has improved its color variable messaging capabilities, decreased downtime and significantly streamlined processes within its facilities due to its implementation of an inkjet platform from Ricoh. Utilitec has enhanced its operation with Ricoh’s InfoPrint 5000 GP continuous-feed color inkjet system to meet customer demand for broader in-line messaging capabilities on printed bills and eliminated preprinted forms, bringing an end to the resource-intensive processes managing such forms requires.
With customers looking to better engage audiences, Utilitec decision makers knew they needed to help empower their clients to achieve this goal, without adding expensive processes. The InfoPrint 5000 enables Utilitec to seamlessly integrate in-line variable color messaging into documents, making form creation faster and easier, without preprinting, while helping Utilitec meet customers’ communication needs. Additionally, its quick turnaround capabilities, high uptime and impressive capacity enable Ancor to meet tight SLA windows while reducing labor time per job, as well as pursue larger customers and jobs.
"As an outsourcing provider for a variety of industries that rely heavily on the quick, accurate communication of information, we have a responsibility to provide our customers with the latest in technological advancements to further their goals," says Mike Maley, director of operations, Utilitec. "We had heard that high-speed inkjet print technology had made advancements in performance and quality in recent years, and when we saw the InfoPrint 5000 in action, we knew what we had heard was true. The addition of this platform has improved output quality, broadened messaging capabilities, and greatly improved our own internal processes with the elimination of preprinted forms."
Ancor Information Management, which provides customized printing, mailing and electronic document services to two major markets, supports two different brand names under the Ancor umbrella. One, Utilitec, is tailored to meet the specific needs of the utility billing markets nationwide. The other is Ancor’s Automotive business which targets the needs of various automotive companies within the Detroit marketplace. Ancor’s Automotive branch provides specialized vehicle labeling solutions for North American automotive plants. Utilitec is the first business within Ancor to use the new inkjet color technology, supporting newly developed color statements for their customers, while eliminating time-consuming and inefficient pre-printed forms. Additionally, the automotive side of the business is evaluating printing new car window labels in the near future, providing yet another new and valuable service for their customers and another revenue stream for the business.
"When it comes to service bureaus who serve specialized vertical markets like utilities, insurance, and automotive, efficiency and quality are key," relays Andre Brazeau, VP of production print solutions, Ricoh USA. "At Ricoh, we understand how important it is for these companies to meet customer needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. We also understand that, with the fantastic strides continuous feed inkjet has made, the InfoPrint 5000 is well-positioned to help our customers meet those goals while cutting costs and improving capabilities."
