VISOgraphic Takes Delivery of a Ricoh Pro C901 Digital Printer
WEST CALDWELL, NJ—Dec. 1, 2011—Ricoh Americas, a leading provider of digital office equipment and advanced document management solutions and services, has installed a Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition color production printing system at VISOgraphic Inc. of Burr Ridge, IL. The Pro C901 will help provide VISOgraphic with greater quality, better versatility and quicker turnaround times to more effectively meet its customers’ wide range of design, fulfillment and printing project requirements. This is VISOgraphic’s fourth digital press, and first from Ricoh.
Serving the Chicagoland area since 1946, VISOgraphic is a digital and conventional graphic communications company. In addition to digital and conventional printing, it specializes in Web-based, on-demand collateral systems, direct mail, variable data and hybrid printing, corporate collateral, digital publishing options for the Web, and green printing solutions. The company also offers full graphic design, bindery and finishing, and mailing and fulfillment services, making it a “one-stop shop” for customers’ visual communication needs.
“The employees at VISOgraphic understand how critical printed materials are to our customers’ ability to effectively promote their products and services,” said Robert V. Dahlke, president. “We have offered quality printing, design and mail services for more than 60 years, so our customers have access to everything they need to create their visual communication projects—from initial concept to completion. Coupled with our new digital and web-based offerings, we strive to deliver content where and how our clients want it. The C901 adds to our inventory of solutions.”
Engineered to meet the demanding needs of the production print environment, the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition delivers exceptional quality and performance for the most complex applications. It combines consistent 1200 dpi output with 90 pages-per-minute speed, regardless of media type or weight, even in duplex mode. It delivers near-offset results with Ricoh’s new PxP chemical toners and oil-free fusing technology, where smaller, more uniform toner particles deliver sharper images and better fills with a matte finish for commercial-quality output.
“With its superior quality, high speeds and state-of-the-art workflow applications, the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition is setting a new standard in color digital print quality and productivity,” said Brian Balow, vice president, Production Sales, Ricoh U.S. “In addition, with our extensive experience in digital printing, we can help printers expand their business and assist them in using technology and advanced solutions to help them succeed.”
Its modular design enables a number of input and output configurations, and offers many production tools for advanced page programming requirements like tabs, inserts, covers and chapter breaks.
“Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen the industry demand more printing jobs with smaller runs that incorporate variable data,” said Dahlke. “To meet this increased demand, we needed to add another digital color production unit to our fleet. We investigated several different digital presses and performed extensive due diligence testing on each of them. The Ricoh C901 Graphic Arts Edition stood out because of its great quality combined with an attractive price point, giving us the ability to immediately enhance our graphic design and variable data offerings for customers.”
The Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition is designed to reduce maintenance requirements and is backed by Ricoh’s team of locally based service and support professionals. In addition, Ricoh production print customers can take advantage of the Ricoh Business Booster Program, an integrated package of services and tools designed to help customers grow their business.
It is this kind of support that led VISOgraphic to purchase the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition. “Being a Heidelberg shop, we were excited to hear about Ricoh’s new partnership with Heidelberg. For Heidelberg to select Ricoh as their new digital partner says a lot about the quality of their product. We are a first-time Ricoh customer, and they have been with us every step of the process, through the purchase, delivery, set up and training,” said Dahlke. “The Ricoh service team has been impressive as well. Ricoh’s technicians are incredibly responsive and very knowledgeable about the product.”
