Walsworth Publishing to Expand Capabilities in Marceline, MO
MARCELINE, MO—March 16, 2011—Walsworth Publishing Co. is adding nearly $3 million in printing equipment to its local facility, bringing new jobs and allowing the company to offer a broader range of products to its customers.
The equipment will go into its printing and bindery operations and will allow the company to offer customers more flexibility in production scheduling and four-color printed products such as catalogs, magazines and publications. Eventually, it expects to add more than 10 new full-time jobs in Marceline related to the move.
Company officials and community leaders will gather at the facility Friday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. to announce the investment.
“The substantial investment Walsworth Publishing is making in its finishing facility demonstrates our long-term commitment to the Marceline area,” Don Walsworth, Walsworth Publishing’s CEO, said. “Walsworth is not only committed to serving our customers; we are also committed to the people who live right here.”
The significant capital investment and job creation will take place in the Marceline/Bucklin Enhanced Enterprise Zone, and will qualify the company for tax credits over the next five years.
“We have known for many years that Walsworth Publishing Co. is a pillar in our community and have watched the company expand time after time in Marceline. This expansion once again shows their commitment to keep Marceline and other surrounding facilities on the cutting edge of the printing industry,” said Darrell Gardner of the Marceline Industrial Development Authority. “The jobs this expansion will create are welcome news. Marceline’s Industrial Development Authority is fortunate and pleased to work with a stable company like Walsworth. The new Marceline Enhanced Enterprise Zone should help both existing and new companies that want to expand here.”
