Webcrafters Cuts Staff Primarily Via Voluntary Packages
MADISON, WI—August 9, 2012—Webcrafters, a book manufacturing company, reported that the final steps have been taken in its staff reduction program that was announced in March 2012. A total of 127 employees chose a voluntary package, representing 95 percent of the total staff reductions that were necessary. Six employees received notices of involuntary separation this week.
The voluntary packages included severance pay and benefits for up to six months, along with outplacement services.
“Technology and the market will continue to evolve in book manufacturing,” stated Jac Garner, Webcrafters’ CEO. “But I’m confident that making this significant employment change is an essential step in ensuring that Webcrafters will continue to be a successful venture, employ hundreds of skilled workers and remain strong contributor to our local economy and community.”
