Workman Publishing Selects Ingram for Digital Content Services
NEW YORK—Oct. 11, 2012—To meet the expectations of readers in a print and digital world, Workman Publishing is expanding its relationship with Ingram, selecting CoreSource services for the management and distribution of digital content.
“Technology continues to reshape our industry, and while the printed book is very much alive and well, more consumers are reading digitally,” said Bob Miller, group publisher, Workman Publishing. “Expanding our relationship with Ingram, a digital distribution expert, gives us the tools and expertise that we need in a changing market to get content in all forms to more destinations worldwide.”
Workman is the creator of the award-winning parenting/pregnancy series “What to Expect” and the iconic “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.” It publishes bestselling fiction, educational titles, as well as cookbooks, gardening, humor, self-help, business books and its popular “Page-A-Day Calendars.”
Workman will add titles to the CoreSource platform beginning immediately. Content will be added by the publishers and its other imprints, including Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, Artisan, Storey Publishing, and Timber Press. The company will also continue to use Lightning Source for its print-on-demand needs.
“Workman is an innovative, independent publisher and understands that to succeed in the digital age, content must be available to be distributed in any format, to any destination,” said Marcus Woodburn, vice president of Digital Products, Ingram Content Group. “We look forward to expanding our relationship with Workman, growing the reach of their content to an even broader audience and helping them to develop new ways to reach their customers.”
