Brown Printing Installs 75"-Wide Web Press
WASECA, MN—Brown Printing announced the acquisition of the world’s first Goss Sunday 3000 web press with an extended 75" web width. Installation of the new Goss Sunday press in Brown’s facility here will begin next spring and is expected to be completed by July 2011.
The four-unit, 32-page press will be capable of producing saddlestitched and perfect bound products up to 9" wide, a first for single-circumference web presses. Brown will equip the press with closed-loop color, as well as automated register and ribbon controls that increase efficiency while maintaining quality. The Bertelsmann/Gruner + Jahr-owned company serves magazine publishers and catalogers.
"Brown’s facilities are among the most modern and efficient in the country. In fact, the last Sunday 3000 press installed in the U.S., back in 2008, was also purchased by Brown,” said Volker Petersen, president and CEO of Brown. “We continually look for ways to improve our productivity in order to better serve our customers. Brown’s history of strong reinvestment puts the best equipment, service and technology at our customers’ fingertips.”
