Worzalla Puts First manroland Web Press into Production, January Targeted for Second
STEVENS POINT, WI—Oct. 23, 2012—Worzalla announced that its installation of a five-color web press and a hardcase binding line is now complete and the equipment is in full production. The manroland Lithoman press provides speed and efficiency gains that will benefit current customers and provide versatility to attract work in new market segments, while the Diamant casing-in line was added to provide much needed capacity to deal with a healthy demand for hardcase product.
“Our peak production season is going smoothly thanks to the added capabilities in our press and finishing operations,” reported Worzalla CEO Jim Fetherston.
With the Lithoman and Diamant up and running the next step is to move forward with installation of a Rotoman web press that was delivered in September. The Rotoman is expected to be operational in early January 2013.
“Worzalla is celebrating 120 years in business, and we think two presses and a casing-in line are a fitting gesture as we tip our hat to the past and look to the future,” Fetherston added.
