Worzalla, an employee-owned company specializing in printing high-quality children’s books, movie tie-in books and cookbooks, created a new monthlong event titled “WorzallaPalooza” to show appreciation to its associates. Throughout the month of July, Worzalla offered daily giveaways, including several grand prize packages.
Every summer, Worzalla would usually host an annual associate appreciation cookout to celebrate all that the company has accomplished and to thank employees, but this year’s event was canceled due to health and safety concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the company created WorzallaPalooza to safely show appreciation to its associates for their dedicated work over the last year, particularly during the last few months.
“While we were disappointed to cancel the annual cookout, we wanted to do something meaningful to thank all of our associates for their role in bringing the books we produce to life,” said Brianne Petruzalek, Vice President of Human Resources. “We came up with WorzallaPalooza as a safe alternative to showing appreciation to our dedicated associates.”
Every day in July featured a unique giveaway opportunity for Worzalla associates, including drawings for gift cards from Fleet Farm, Copps, Target, and Amazon. Several grand prize package opportunities were available, where the winning associate that day can select from a variety of package options. Options include a bike package from Hostel Shoppe Bicycles valued at $1,000; a Plaski & Sons landscaping package valued at $1,000; a Pelican 7.5' Monaco DLX Pedal Boat; a Craftsman 42" 439cc Gear Drive Riding Lawn Tractor; and more.
“We’re proud to partner with area businesses like Hostel Shoppe Bicycles and Fleet Farm, among many others, for WorzallaPalooza,” added Petruzalek. “Many of these businesses are already loved by our associates, which make the daily giveaways more meaningful.”
Three Worzalla associates were randomly drawn as WorzallaPalooza grand prize winners, including Randy Landowski, Tim Worzalla, and Kierstynn Knutson.
Worzalla prints titles from some of the country’s largest book publishers, including Disney Books, Abrams, Simon and Schuster, Hachette, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and others. Worzalla is best known for being the domestic manufacturer of the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Worzalla currently has several open positions for supervisor, operations, and entry-level roles.
